Some customers prefer to run Kimai internally but don't want to miss out on professional support. I'm pleased to assist you and offer a support plan for self-hosted installations.

Cloud Customers

Email support is available to paying Cloud customers.

Cloud customers can expect responses within 24 hours, Monday to Friday between 10am and 4pm CET (excluding public holidays).

Community

There is no email support available for free, self-hosted installations.

Community support on GitHub usually responds quickly. Please search the existing issues to see if your problem has already been solved.

Support call with screen sharing

If you would like an introduction to Kimai or support with updates etc., you can book a paid screen sharing session with the developer, Kevin Papst. When you select a time slot, you will be redirected to a Stripe payment page, after which you will receive an invitation to the session.

If you are unable to attend your appointment, you must cancel at least 24 hours in advance so that it can be rescheduled. No refunds will be given.

Installation and update support

Want to use Kimai, but don't know how to install it on your server?

Although all necessary steps are documented, they may cause problems for users who are not familiar with server systems. In 25+ years of work experience I have seen a lot of different server systems and know that it is not always easy to integrate new software into your existing setup.

If you want to hire the Kimai developer for installation or updates, please get in touch via email.

Required information

Depending on the type of setup, I might ask you for different types of credentials and information. These might be:

  • SSH connection details and user account
  • the database connection and account
  • a prepared domain with SSL certificate
  • login to your hosters web interface

If you use a shared hoster and don’t know what all that means, don’t worry - just drop me an email.

Pricing

  • Updates take roughly 30-60 minutes
  • Migration from Kimai v1 takes around 2 hours
  • Installation takes around 1-2 hours (depending on your setup / hoster)
  • I offer a recurring update service, so you always have the latest version of Kimai
