Use Kimai as app
Install Kimai as application on any of your devices: iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, Windows, Chrome OS
One of the great things about Kimai is that it’s a webapp, which means there is no need to install anything!
But I know you may still want to have the app on your phone or tablet’s home screen so here are instructions to do just that.
For iOS (iPhone or iPad)
- Open Safari and navigate to your cloud https://example.kimai.cloud/
- Tap the
Share
button (the square with an arrow pointing upward) - Scroll down and select
Add to Home Screen
- Rename the app if desired, then tap
Add
in the top-right corner - That’s it! The Kimai app will now appear on your home screen
For Android (Samsung, Motorola, Google, LG etc)
- Open Chrome and go to https://example.kimai.cloud/
- Tap the menu button (three vertical dots) in the top-right corner
- Select
Add to Home screen
- Rename the app if you like, then tap
Add
- That’s it! The Kimai app is now on your home screen
For Mac (using Safari)
- Open Safari and navigate to https://example.kimai.cloud/
- Click and drag the URL from the address bar to your desktop
- That’s it! The Kimai app shortcut will now appear on your desktop
For Windows (using Chrome)
- Open Chrome and go to https://example.kimai.cloud/
- Click the three vertical dots in the top-right corner to open the menu
- Select
Cast, save and share
thenInstall Kimai Time-Tracker
- Click
Install
- That’s it! The Kimai app shortcut will now appear on your desktop
For Chrome OS
- Open Chrome and navigate to https://example.kimai.cloud/
- Click the three vertical dots in the top-right corner to open the menu
- Select
More tools
thenCreate shortcut
- Rename the app if desired, then click
Create
- That’s it! The Kimai app shortcut will now appear on your Chromebook’s shelf
